In Mill’s “On Liberty” he says man believes he is right in his perceptions and opinions despite being limited to the world around him and by his experience related to his social class, his political party, his religious orientation, his country, his generation, and so on. He may not necessarily be correct in his perceptions or opinions, which could lead to tyranny of the majority if he comes into control and insists on his ideas being right and the way to govern society.
